Team Preview: 7 Nation Army

After capturing the inaugural One Ummah League championship, 7 Nation Army could have simply run it back. Instead, they assumed every contender would spend the offseason building a roster capable of knocking them off the throne, so they did the same.

Returning is reigning MVP candidate Nasir Kareem (Chris Long), alongside an elite supporting cast featuring versatile two-way wings Bruce Haidrey and James "Duke" Walker, dependable interior anchors Aeshraff Dabbas, Zayd Yunus, and Haroon Khaliqi, and pass first floor general Mark Butler. That core alone makes for one of the most complete rosters in the league.

But the defending champions weren't finished. They strengthened an already loaded squad by adding another high level two-way wing in Humzah Shariff, a dominant interior force in Joshua Davis, and dynamic playmaker Elijah Al-Debaran, giving them even more scoring, athleticism, and versatility on both ends of the floor.

There are no weak links on this roster. Every position is stacked with experience, depth, and players capable of taking over a game at any moment. Even more dangerous is the chemistry they've built together. Much of this group has already competed side by side in the National Muslim Basketball Tournament and the Mecca Pro-Am League, creating the trust and continuity that championship teams are built on. Pair this with Omar Alameddine coaching the team and holding them to the highest standard on every play throughout the game, and you have a force to be reckoned with.

On paper, 7 Nation Army may be the team everyone is chasing. They have size, skill, defense, leadership, and an unwavering belief in one another. Once they find their rhythm, slowing them down will be one of the toughest challenges in the league.

Every team will enter the season believing they can dethrone the champions. But until someone proves they can, one question remains:
